How to save all tabs in Chrome
Save a whole window as a session, close it, and bring every tab back later on any computer.
Too many tabs open, and you need them all later? Save the whole window as a session in one click, close it, and bring every tab back when you need it, with its tab groups, on any computer.
Save Window or Freeze
- Save Window saves every tab and the tabs stay open. Use it to keep a copy of what you are working on.
- Freeze saves every tab, then closes them. Use it to clear your browser without losing anything.
Both keep your tab groups: their names, colors and the tabs in each.
Save every tab in a window
- 1
Open a new tab
Go to Saved Tabs. The open-tabs panel on the side lists every window you have open, one at a time. Pick the window you want to save.
- 2
Click Save Window or Freeze
Both buttons sit at the top of the window in the panel. A note confirms how many tabs were saved.
- 3
Find it in Saved Tabs
The window is now a saved session, named after its sites (for example “GitHub, Notion & 4 others”). Rename it any time.
Other ways to save
- Right-click a window in the open-tabs panel and choose Save Window or Freeze Window.
- Drag a window from the open-tabs panel into your saved tabs.
- Save part of a window: hover a tab group and click Save group (or Save group and close), or hover a single tab and click Save.
- The side panel has the same open-tabs list, beside any page you are on.
Name it for the work
Get your tabs back
Open the session in Saved Tabs and use the buttons on it:
- Restore window opens every tab in a new window, tab groups included.
- Restore in current window adds the tabs to the window you are in.
- On a saved tab group, Restore group or Open group in new window brings back only that group.
Restoring does not remove the session. Open it as many times as you like, and delete it only when you are done with it.
On another computer
Saved sessions sync to your account on every plan, Free included. Sign in to LinkVolv on another computer and the same sessions are in Saved Tabs, ready to restore.
How many tabs you can save
Free saves up to 100 tabs across all your sessions, counted apart from your 1,000 bookmarks. Plus and Pro have no limit. Sessions you already saved always stay and always restore; only new saves past the limit need Plus.
